Profile files - Changing profile information
With the menu command Others/change Profile file profile files may be changed.
The following parts are relevant to profiles.

Profile discription ie HEA100
Surface area [mm²]
Moment of inertia x-axis [mm4]
Moment of inertia y-axis [mm4]
Moment of resistance x-axis [mm³]
Moment of resistance y-axis [mm³]
Static moment half way cross section relevant to the x-axis (Td = DS/bl)
Static moment half way cross section relevant to the y-axis (Td =DS/bl)
The following parts are only relevant to profiles with an L shaped cross section.

Body thickness [mm]
Body thickness [mm] if body is horizontal. Not used for IPE, HEA and HEB profiles.
Static moment flange relevant to the Y-axis [mm³], Belonging to Bx
Static moment flange relevant to the Y-axis [mm³], Belonging to By. Not used for IPE, HEA
and HEB profiles.
Distance of the neutral line to the bottom of the flange's X-axis [mm], belonging to Bx.
Distance of the neutral line to the bottom of the flange's Y-axis [mm], belonging to By.
Factor to determine the kipspanning         (See figure below)
Factor to determine the kipspanning         (See figure below)
(paint) circumference [mm]
Sizes needed for drawing profile views (see below)
Remark:
Click on the icon OK to confirm changes.
After a profile file has been changed, the relevant profile must be reselected to be incorporated into the construction.
Profile Views
L1n, L2n, L3n and L4n are for solid lines. L5s and L6s are for the broken lines.

If for example the value for L1nx is 100 a solid line will be drawn 100mm above the centre line.
If for example the value for L5sx is -150 then a broken line will be drawn 150mm under the centre line.
For a non rotated profile the following will be visible:
 *        four solid lines (L1nx, L2nx, L3nx and L4nx)
 *        two broken lines (L5sx and L6sx)

For a rotated profile the following will be visible:
 *        two solid lines (L1ny and L2ny)
 *        two broken lines (L5sy and L6sy)
Making a profile file
With the menu command Others/ Make profile file a new profile file may be created.
After selecting this select Others/Change profile file to enter the profile data.

If no view sizes are entered for the new profile then EMPIRE-2D will draw a red line as the profile view.
Materials File
With the command Others/ Change material file new materials may be entered or changed.
The following parts are relevant to materials:
 *        MatDescrip                Material description ie Fe310
 *        Sigv                           Lower Yield Point    [N/mm²]
 *        E                               Modulus of elasticity [N/mm²]
 *        Ro                             specific mass [Kg/dm³]

Remark:
Once a profile (File) has been changed then that profile must be reentered into the construction.
Per rod the profile will also have to be reselected.
Exporting

It is possible to export an image of the work screen to a word processor, drawing program etc.

First ensure, that the work screen is showing the desired image of the construction (as large as possible).

You may create an image as a DXF or BMP file.

DXF
Select the menu command file / export / DXF and indicate where the image of the construction should be saved.

The DXF file contains all system lines and profile views.

BMP

Select the menu command file / export / BMP and indicate where the image of the constructio
